The magical quest game. Is this the one that will get SidheRa into boardgaming? Only time will tell.

=== FF XII ===
This PS2 title is meh in the series, but is strongly evocative of FF: Tactics. The license grid is interesting if you use it strategically rather than just for building tiny gods. So I'm playing it through using a modified version of the [[http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/459841-final-fantasy-xii/faqs/45802|Strict Classes FAQ]]. In short, I'm using dual-classes (a la FFT), but adhering to Item restriction otherwise. It makes it easier, but not by much.

My characters:

Nethack

  • An ASCII dungeon crawl that is easy to win...once you know how to play. (The fun's in the learning.) You can play it on your computer alone, but why do that when you can play it on http://nethack.alt.org/? PuTTY is a good Windows client to connect with.

  • The Nethack Wiki is a great resource for learning the ins and outs of ascension (and not dying, for that matter).

  • SteveKillen is currently on his first serious attempt at ascension with a Val Dwa Fem Law. Last save: in Sokoban 3a. Fjear! ...yeah, he died. Closest he's been is maybe a level 11 Barbarian who just started his quest. But Nethack must make room for a new hotness:

Settlers of Catan

Catan's great. I haven't explored the add-ons yet, though.

Carcassonne

A fast-paced tile placement game.

Bridge

More of an intimation of a hint of an inkling of an urge to to learn to play than any concrete desire yet. Anyone up for it?

Canasta

O Canasta, game of my peoples. (Well, my family, anyway.)

Talisman

The magical quest game. Is this the one that will get SidheRa into boardgaming? Only time will tell.
