Mechanics:
- Cathy dislikes the abandonment rules. At a minimum, it should be made very clear that abandoning territories is on.
Graphics:
The filled-number thing seems universally decried, though it does reveal more of the underlying art. I'll chew on ways to better show population but preserve the map. --SteveKillen
- The lack of visually-defined continents is problematic.

- use various races as the player names (Men [possibly divided by nation: Gondor, Rohan, Rangers, ...], Orcs, Uruk-Hai, Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits?).
Mod suggestions:
- Hordes! (1 bonus army for each country surrounded only by your own units)
- Team play, from massively multiplayer (e.g., 8 2-person teams) down to two-person regional starts.
